Cool Retro Term
Eye candy time! Cool-retro-term is a terminal emulator by all means. It mimics the old cathode display of ancient and glorious hardware.
Half of the eating is done with the eyes, right? Well, sometimes we kinda need to have fun with our trustworthy linuxbox, and here is a nice catch! Cool Retro Term is brought to us by Swordfish90, it is probably the coolest terminal emulator I've ever seen, it mimics old CRT displays and yes, I'm saying displays because there are a lot of preset themes to choose from without effort. Anyway, you can go hardcore with the customization, because Cool Retro Term allows choosing fonts, font size, color, saturation, rasterization, and even much more related to the effects such as static noise, bloom, jitter, ambient light, glow light etc... Just go check it out and try it yourself! It is available in the repos of the main distros, just look for the cool-retro-term
package. On Arch Linux it's in the community repo:
$ sudo pacman -S cool-retro-term
And there you have it. But let me drop some themes here, they look really awesome. Besides the amber default we got:
And this customized Commodore 64 theme because why not.
Showoff time at the café! Have fun! >_
